Understanding Meta Title Optimization
Meta titles (title tags) are one of the most important on-page SEO elements. They appear in search results, browser tabs, and when your page is shared on social media. A well-optimized meta title can significantly improve your click-through rate from search results.
Best Practices:
• Keep titles between 50-60 characters for optimal display
• Include your primary keyword near the beginning
• Make it compelling and descriptive to encourage clicks
• Include your brand name (usually at the end)
• Avoid keyword stuffing and clickbait
• Each page should have a unique meta title
Note: Google measures title length in pixels (approximately 600px), not just characters. Wider characters like "W" and "M" take up more space than narrow characters like "i" and "l". This tool estimates both character count and pixel width to help you optimize.
